Other events
Throughout the year we hold various one-off events - for instance, last summer we enjoyed a barbecue in the church grounds and a picnic at Bolton Abbey, and in the spring we enjoyed a quiz night at the church. Another picnic is planned for later in the year, along with other social events. Details of these events are made available in advance in the weekly notices.
The events in more detail
Banner Group
The banner group are the people who design and create the banners you will see on the walls in the church. They also provide tableaux for Christmas and Easter and other special events.
Growth Groups
These are small groups that meet in people's homes during the week. These groups provide an opportunity for bible study, prayer, and fellowship. If you would like to join a group, please contact the minister, Mark Duggan, who will put you in touch with an appropriate group.
Youth cell group
A group for older teenagers who want to learn more about the Christian faith. They meet on Monday nights in the home of two of our church members.
Faithbuilders
Faithbuilders is held on alternate Wednesday afternoons. Previously a ladies' meeting, this group is now open to men as well.
Church Meeting
As a Baptist church, we hold regular church meetings so church members may meet to discuss important issues in the life of the church. These are held on Wednesday evenings, and are always announced a few weeks in advance.
Re:Vive Prayer Meeting
The Re:Vive prayer meeting monthly, and provides an opportunity for focused prayer on a particular topic or set of issues.
Bridgebuilders
Bridgebuilders is a group that meets on alternate Thursday afternoons, for a wide range of activities, talks and visits. The meetings are an opportunity to meet new people and invite friends along. A small subscription of 50p covers refreshments and most of the materials for any craft activities.
Choir
The choir meet on a Thursday evening, to practise any hymns that will be used in the Sunday services, and also any songs they will be singing for special events or services.
